This week Mercedes-AMG introduces a new concept as an extension of the AMG GT family, that will seemingly become a production version in the near future. According to the manufacturer, this GT delivery provides “a sneak preview of the exterior design coming to the series-production model.”

The new four-door model was designed entirely by AMG in Affalterbach, featuring front and rear fascias and a steeply raked windshield, rivaling that found on the AMG GT sports car. The vertical ribs on the grille, side gills and slim headlamps are all current AMG design cues, while automatic shutters in the front and side air intakes, a large carbon fiber diffuser, and centrally mounted exhaust outlets point to the Mercedes-AMG GT R. LED headlamps are then backed up by tubular “rod lights,” as small cameras in turn replace exterior mirrors. Carbon fiber has been utilized for the roof, side sills and front spoiler, of course in order to cut weight.

Featuring a hybrid powertrain, the GT concept makes use of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8, as well as an electric motor that is directly connected to the rear wheels. All in all, you can look forward to an output of 805 horsepower.

Lastly, three modes of operation are available: electric, gasoline engine, and combined for maximum performance.
