The Mercedes CLS has been revealed, with the sleek saloon getting a tweaked exterior and new interior options. This alternative to the Audi A7 will also be available in refreshed AMG CLS 53 guise. Styling tweaks to the Mercedes CLS are subtle to say the least, but it does look a bit fresher. The front bumper gets some tweaks to the intakes for a bit more of an aggressive look, while the rear gets a few chrome trims and a black insert to mimic the shape of a diffuser. You can pick between two new 19-inch alloy wheel designs as well across the range, with AMG Line versions getting 20-inch units available in grey or black. Inside, the new Mercedes CLS’s upgrades are equally tricky to spot. You can pick between two new interior trims — a brown walnut or high-gloss grey wood — and the seats are now available in brown or grey. There’s a new steering wheel too, trimmed in Nappa leather. If you opt for adaptive cruise control, the wheel will be able to detect if you’re concentrating and will bring the car to a safe stop if it detects your hands are elsewhere – if you’ve fallen asleep, for example. The 2022 Mercedes AMG C 63 and 2022 Mercedes AMG C 45 are on the way and not everyone is going to like what’s coming. The days of the V8 and V6 appear to be over with hybridized 4 cylinders now powering the C Class AMG range. Even though the engines have been downsized these cars are still promising some impressive performance. In this episode of MtnRoads will dig into the hybrid setups of these AMG models. We will look at the new vs old including engines and performance. Starting with the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged M139 engine. This is the engine from the A 45 S and this should power both AMG’s. #Mercedes AMG SL63 Overview With a legacy that stretches back all the way to the original 300SL Gullwing, the Mercedes-AMG SL-class is a true automotive icon. Recent examples haven’t been as impressive as expected and a host of newer two-door, four-seat grand touring convertibles have rendered it obsolete, but we’re happy to report that Mercedes is working on an all-new SL-class that will launch in 2021 as a 2022 model. The new SL-class will share a platform with the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car, so performance and handling should be a big step up from the 2018 model. Details are scarce so far, but we expect both six- and eight-cylinder engine options, a luxurious and tech-heavy cabin, and a folding fabric roof in place of the last generation’s power hardtop. What’s New for 2022? Mercedes-AMG’s iconic SL-class will be all new for 2022, following a one-year hiatus. The previous generation was canceled after the 2018 model year.Without having a chance to drive the new SL and sample its powertrains, it’s hard to recommend one over the other. The new 2022 C-Class is the first classic Mercedes-Benz model series to be fully electrified thanks to an integrated starter- generator and a 48-volt technology. It also sets standards with respect to sustainability. The 4-cylinder M 254 gasoline engine, featuring an integrated starter-generator with an additional output of up to 20 horsepower and 148 lb-ft more torque is also celebrating its premiere in the C-Class. Thanks to energy recovery and the ability to “glide” with the engine switched off, the gasoline engine is highly efficient. In the M 254, Mercedes-Benz has for the first time combined all the innovations of the modular engine family of four and six-cylinder gasoline units in a single engine. They include NANOSLIDE cylinder coating, CONICSHAPE cylinder honing (trumpet honing) and the exhaust after treatment system positioned directly at the engine. A completely new feature is the segment charger with flow connection, an advancement of the twin-scroll technology for even more instantaneous response of the forced induction system. The completely newly developed segment turbocharger is a result of cooperation between Mercedes-Benz turbocharger developers and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team.
