This is the Aston Martin DBS – the first modern classic to join the channel and one of my dream cars! The Aston Martin DBS is a 2008/2009 naturally aspirated V12 manual developing 510bhp – it was made instantly famous after featuring in the Daniel Craig James Bond film – Casino Royale – and I’ve loved it ever since! Growing up with my uncle embedded in the world of Aston Martin I’ve loved the brand from a very early age so, today is a very special day to be sharing with you! Some days at work are better than others. Yearning for more seat time after our stint with the 707hp muscle car in Portland back in July, we happily accepted the red key at an event held where Kanan Road meets Mulholland Highway in the lovely hills of Malibu and headed out to the twisting stretches of picturesque road in this supercharged bruiser – here equipped with the Viper-derived six-speed manual transmission – with the Pacific Ocean as our backdrop. Some days, indeed. Unlike our street drive on the back roads around Portland, this time around the roads were virtually devoid of traffic, giving the Hellcat a chance to properly stretch its legs and allowing us to evaluate its 0-60 mph and 60-0 mph manners, along with its handling behaviors on the undulating pavement of Mulholland Highway and the demanding corners found throughout. 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Price: $59,995 (base), $65,265 Engine: 6.2-liter supercharged V8 Output: 707hp / 650lb-ft 0-60 mph: 3.5 seconds On Sale: August 2014 Read our thoughts on the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat here: Wear headphones! Henry Catchpole took the NEW manual version of the Aston Martin Vantage AMR out for a spin on the roads near the Nurburgring to give it a Carfection road review. You could have a well-specced version of the latest Porsche 911, for example. Fancy something with the engine a little further forward? How about an Audi R8 or a McLaren Sports Series car? If front-mid engined is your thing then the AMG GT is an appealing choice and BMW has also just released the M8. I think Maserati will still sell you a GranTurismo if you fancy something Italian. Since its launch last year, the Vantage has arguably struggled to stand out in this somewhat crowded marketplace. Granted, the looks are wonderful and if you’re a sucker for the badge then nothing else will do. There is also nothing wrong with the dynamics, but they aren’t class-leading. The 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine is good too, but it’s not exactly bespoke (even if the AMG badges have been taken off). Now, however, with the launch of the Vantage AMR, it feels like Aston Martin has carved its own distinct niche in the market. And it’s a rather [More]
POV drive in a 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat 6 Speed Manual. 707 Horsepower and 650 Torque. This car is a beast! Pure Muscle Car right here, 6 speed manual. Big American V8 that sounds amazing, but man that supercharger whine is just amazing. I smiled every mile I drove. The car is huge and heavy, but who cares, this car has 707 horsepower, so fun. The 6 Speed Manual is the way to go to. I would definitely recommend buying this car. It is so fun and you will not be disappointed.
